Project Description.
American Jewish World Service (AJWS) supports RICE West Nile in partnership with Radio Pacis Arua to implement a peaceful coexistence among refugees and between refugees and host communities in Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement in Arua District through organized radio dialogues.
During the year 2019, 16 community Radio Dialogue
were recorded and aired through Radio Pacis to preach peace and harmony in host
and refugee communities. This platform provided a mutual ground for both
communities to express their challenges, recommendations and find solutions to
issues that affect livelihood, education, security, health and environment in
Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement.
Some of the topics include; awareness on
environmental degradation, health seeking behaviour of refugees and host
communities, access to education services, awareness on SGBV, increasing
community vigilance on personal and household security among others
